And then...and then...and then...

I've been slacking on the posting!

I'm quite exhausted from this past weekend at the cabin and having to get up early for my 1-Hour Glucose Tolerance Test today. I plan on getting my butt into a cozy tub and then bed as soon as I'm don with this (and hopefully by then, my virus scan will be done, too).

On Friday, August 14th, I had my first baby shower - hosted by my Mom, MIL, SIL, and my future SIL. It was a lot of fun and some people came that I didn't expect! My cousin and her little guy, Maddox, made it over...and Dave's aunt came all of the way from Indiana with one of her friends. I got quite a stash of stuff but, believe me, there is plenty more that I still need. I merely want the needs of my little guy met, not much more than that. I don't want him starting out spoiled!

So, as I stated earlier, I had my gestational diabetes test today (it was my 28 week appointment). It was pretty good. The glucose drink is awful...it was supposed to be lemon-lime flavor, but it pretty much tasted like corn syrup. And it gave me heartburn. And it made me feel all jittery. Anyway, I measured correctly this time - right on at 28. I'm very happy I don't have to be worried about having a huge baby in there. The lab called with my results within an hour and said I passed everything just fine! Yay!

I am feeling a lot more relief at work as I no longer have to apply vinyl to the banners. I feel bad for my co-worker, however, who has to do it instead. I suppose life goes on.

Tonight I did my first tally of kick counts. Dave decided to lay his head up against my tummy and Tobin decided to kick him in the face a few times. It was hilarious! I think what makes it the MOST funny, is that it's the first time that Dave has felt him move in there. :D He's seen my belly move around before, but the timing was never right when he put his hands there. So tonight was a fun little milestone.

Oh yeah, I also put together the little shelf I got for the nursery. It looks cute. I got those little fabric cubes to easily pull out and stock items (diapers, wipes, bath stuff, etc.).

Phew...long one. (Still waiting on virus scan to complete, however.) Hopefully my next update will be a little sooner than these last few!

Excitement!...sometimes too much!

It's been a fun week with Jayme and Tiffany. My first shower is tonight and I'm SO excited. Tobin might be too, lol. He's been getting back into an active phase again. The only bad part is that too much laughing or a big sneeze has become very dangerous! And don't worry, people, I know all about certain "exercises" that you can do to help. Yeah, it doesn't matter, haha.

There is pretty much no food in our apartment right now. It is very irritating. if I wanted to prepare dinner, I could do that! But...no breads, cereals (gasp!), or fruits and veggies. Guess I will turn to the Wheel-of-Death at work for a sandwich.

I feel like a dork because I'm trying to figure out what to wear to the shower tonight. Oh well. Tina and Tracy are bringing their little ones, so I'm excited to see them!

My brain is kinda stuck now...I'll have to update more later. :)

I'm so happy to have cable and internet again! I'm so glad to having my moving over with...and the old apartment keys are turned in. It's awesome.

My brother and his fiancee are here this week. It's always a lot of fun. :) I hope we get to play Apples to Apples pretty soon. My first baby shower is this week, too. I hope that it's fun and people let me just relax. I don't want to think about it, I just want to go. Haha.

This past week it seems like Tobin has been kicking me in my colon. It is SO weird.

Moving and Communication

It has been a stressful few days due to moving this past weekend. Dave and I haven't been able to talk to each other much with all of the busy-ness, which leads to us getting a little miffed at each other. Last night we actually had some time alone and got to communicate and get back on track. Thank goodness. There are plenty of issues that are out of my hands that I wish I could fix for him...it drives me crazy when I'm helpless.

On the plus side, our new apartment is nice. We finally have a dining room and table. And, of course, a bedroom reserved for the little guy when he arrives. I'm still trying to get that stupid crib done. I only have the top coat left to do on the inside! Woo hoo! Then the room will be that much more along.

My biggest challenge recently is ... (removed).

Well, I better get myself ready for work. Blah!
